It describes the „risk profile“ of a game.

  • Example (high volatility): In a game like Book of Dead it can happen that you win nothing for 50 rounds, but then suddenly win 500 times your stake.

  • Example (low volatility): In a game with low volatility, you win small amounts (e.g. 0.5 times the stake) almost every 3-4 rounds, which keeps your balance stable for longer.
